CEMCA strives to increase access to good-quality digital content to develop vocational skills of the youth and individuals from marginalised communities – especially women, girls and persons with disabilities . CEMCA also focuses on building capacity of vocational trainers, making TVET aspirational for the youth and mainstreaming it among the skilled and semi-skilled workers. Over the past years, major projects have included:

• European Commission project: “Promote Bamboo MSME Clusters for Sustainable Development”: As part of this project, CEMCA created awareness programmes on bamboo and broadcasted them via community radios. CEMCA also developed training modules to train bamboo entrepreneurs and workers in various skill development workshops.
• CBSE handbook and tutorial videos: CEMCA extended its support to Handicraft & Carpet Sector Skill Council and Ministry of Education in developing an e-handbook and video content of handicraft module for CBSE middle school students.
• Capacity building programmes for skill universities: Faculties from Bhartiya Skill Development University, Jaipur and Delhi Skill & Entrepreneurship University participated in capacity building programmes on “Effective Online Teaching, Assessment and Communication Skills” organised in association with CEMCA.
• Capacity building programme for Sri Lankan trainers: Technical Online workshop on “Electric Vehicle and Teaching Methodology” for vocational trainers from Sri Lanka. CEMCA collaborated with the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission, Sri Lanka and Wayamba Technical College to organize an online technical workshop on “Electric Vehicle and Teaching Methodology.”
• MOOC course on “Blockchain Introduction for Developers”: CEMCA developed the course and collaborated with Amity University, Noida to launch it, bringing together 2,709 students from nine counties.
• Video content development for skill development courses: CEMCA has been supporting the Power Sector Skill Council and the Domestic Worker Sector Skill Council to develop video course modules for their various skill development job roles.
• Upskilling of women and persons with disabilities on Optical fibre Splicer course through CSCs across India: CEMCA is supporting CSC e-Governance Services India Limited to train 5,000 women and 5,000 persons with disabilities.
• Recognition of prior learning: CEMCA supported Capital Goods Skill Council, Furniture and Fittings Skill Council, Automotive Skills Development Council and Domestic Worker Sector Skill Council to conduct an upskilling, assessment and certification programme for 1,250 persons working in organized and unorganized sectors.

In 2021-2027, CEMCA’s focus areas will include:

• Capacity building programme for vocational trainers: CEMCA will work with governments, civil societies and vocational training institutions to train vocational trainers in open, distance and online learning with a view to improving their knowledge and skills . It will support skill institutions in implementing policies and strategies in ODL, effective online teaching skills and assessment.
• Skill development for livelihood enhancement: CEMCA will provide training in employable skills directly to learners, recognizing learners’ prior skills through adequate courses and certification, and establishing partnerships with the labour market.
• Listeners and/or viewers to learners: CEMCA is adopting an integrated approach to Community Radio for non-formal learning to support the establishment and capacity development of community radio stations.
