Working with partners and a network of experts around the Commonwealth, COL develops and delivers gender-responsive technology-based training and solutions towards innovative teaching and learning. Through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), webinars, knowledge-sharing platforms and other relevant tools, individual teachers, teacher educators, education leaders and other education practitioners are trained in various areas including: OER, online pedagogy, inclusive education and environmental education, among others. The goal is to address skills gaps as well as upskill teachers towards improved outcomes among the learners, while being cognisant of the resource constraints in their contexts.
Educational Podcasting for Innovative Classrooms (EPIC)
This project builds partner capacity in using an innovative participatory approach to develop broadcast-ready podcasts / audio lessons, which are available as OER for teaching as well as teacher training and professional development in respective countries. It is a model for inclusive knowledge sharing, with inclusion features for PWD, low bandwidth access, among others.
AI for Teacher Education (AI4TE)
COL is working with partners as well as experts in AI and cybersecurity to pilot an AI-based model that will advance teacher capacity development and support in this area. The model will be replicable for other knowledge domains.
