30 August 2019, Burnaby, BC, Canada – With just over one week to go until opening day of the ninth Pan-Commonwealth Forum on Open Learning (PCF9), newly-released details of the programme showcase the breadth and expertise of forum presenters.
Organised by the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) and co-hosted with The Open University, PCF9 will take place from 9 to 12 September at BT Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh, Scotland. More than 600 delegates from over 60 countries have registered to attend.
The forum sub-themes of employability, equity and inclusion, opening up education, and technology will form the foundation of both the plenary panels and the parallel sessions scheduled throughout the four-day event.
The detailed PCF9 schedule now available online offers a preview of what delegates can expect when it comes to session content. Topics range from exploring the link between academic ambition and employability, to providing lifelong learning to marginalised groups, enhancing teacher professional learning, and scaling up education through massive open online courses (MOOCs) and open educational resources (OER). The Excellence in Distance Education Awards (EDEA) on 11 September 2019 is sure to be another highlight of PCF9. The awards recognise institutional achievement, excellence in open and distance education materials, and success in a distance or online learning experience.
