The third edition of COL’s Introduction to Technology-Enabled Learning (TEL) course will start on 29 October 2018. This massive open online course (MOOC) is designed for teachers in secondary, post-secondary and vocational education to develop their knowledge and practice in teaching and learning with technology.
Using up-to-date learning design and simple, accessible technology, the course will run for five weeks on an easy-to-use learning platform. It requires approximately three to five hours of time each week and will allow participants to learn from readings, videos and discussions with other participants as well as instructors. Leaners will also undertake meaningful exercises, quizzes and a short assignment to complete the experience and earn either a ‘Certificate of Completion’ or ‘Certificate of Participation’ at the end of the course.
“The TEL-MOOC has become a popular course in fulfilling a specific need of teachers in the Commonwealth. In its first offer, TEL-MOOC attracted over 1,100 participants, and in its second offer, the enrolment increased by about 300 per cent with 18 per cent earning a certificate and over 67 per cent active learners. We are looking forward to yet another large enrolment in this edition,” said COL’s Education Specialist: eLearning, Dr Sanjaya Mishra.
This course offering will be led by Dr M. Cleveland-Innes and Dr N. Ostashewski, both from Athabasca University in Alberta, Canada.
