The popular massive open online course (MOOC) on Introduction to Technology-Enabled Learning (TEL) is back with a start date of 22 September 2019. This MOOC is designed for teachers in secondary, post-secondary and vocational education to develop their knowledge and practice in teaching and learning with technology.
Using contemporary learning design and simple, accessible technology, this five-week course will cover various models of teaching and learning such as Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge, Technology Integration Matrix and Community of Inquiry, the use of open educational resources, and practical applications of technologies for teaching and learning. It requires a time commitment of approximately three to five hours each week. Participants will gain knowledge from readings, videos and discussions with other participants, as well as instructors. Learners will also complete exercises, quizzes and a short assignment to earn either a ‘Certificate of Completion’ or ‘Certificate of Participation’ at the end of the course.
COL’s Education Specialist: eLearning, Dr Sanjaya Mishra said, “This TEL-MOOC is the fourth in a series that COL has offered in collaboration with Athabasca University, Canada. Over 7,000 learners from 95 countries participated in the previous courses. We look forward to yet another edition of TEL-MOOC with high enrolment from across the Commonwealth.”
This course will be led by Dr M. Cleveland-Innes and Dr N. Ostashewski from Athabasca University.
