The Commonwealth of Learning (COL) and Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) are pleased to announce a new six-week massive open online course on Statistical Techniques for Agriculturists starting on 31 May 2022.
This course is recommended for undergraduate and postgraduate students, faculty, and professionals working in agriculture and allied sciences across the Commonwealth. Practising farmers with knowledge of foundational statistical concepts can also benefit from the course.
This free and open online course will enable participants to better understand, analyze and interpret relevant data in order to make informed agricultural policies and business decisions. In particular, the course will enable agriculturists to form their own opinions based on available statistics.
Professor Wale Adekunle, COL Adviser: Lifelong Learning for Farmers said, “With the increase of sensors and mobile phones in agriculture, there is an ever-increasing flow of data that can inform decision-making at various levels, from farms to national and beyond. This course can also build further capacity among learners to understand and interpret such data for improved food security and climate resilience.”
