COLCommons – a micro-course platform for competency-based professional development training – has received two international awards from the US-based Brandon Hall Group for 2023. This year, the platform won silver medals under the categories of “Best Advance in Learning Management Technology for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses” and “Best Advance in Performance Support Technology.”
With these two Silver Awards, the COLCommons platform has received seven Brandon Hall Awards – including one Gold, five Silver and one Bronze – in several different categories since 2020.
Dr Sanjaya Mishra, COL Director: Education commented, “The COLCommons platform at present has 11 short courses in different topics with over 53,000 enrollments and 28,000 certificates of completion to date from around the world. The awards recognise COL’s innovations in providing need-based solutions to scale learning opportunities for practitioners in open, distance and online learning.”
A panel of independent senior industry experts and Brandon Hall Group senior analysts and executives evaluated the entries based on the following criteria: product’s breakthrough innovation, unique differentiators and value proposition, as well as the benefits expected from those using it.
