In celebration of the sixth International Day of Education, Professor Peter Scott, President and CEO of the Commonwealth of Learning (COL), delivered a video message on the crucial role education and teachers play in supporting civil society.

The President commented:

“The Commonwealth of Learning remains committed to quality lifelong learning for all – believing, truly, that open access to learning opportunities is the single most powerful engine to combat inequity and to drive sustainable development of our world…On this day, the Commonwealth of Learning stands with our friends in UNESCO and ask you to reflect on the importance of education for the development of civil society and for peace.”
