COL President and CEO, Professor Asha Kanwar, participated in a virtual event co-hosted by The Globe and Mail, Canada’s leading newspaper, and Athabasca University. Panel discussions focused on the impact of COVID-19 on Canada’s post-secondary education. A bigger role for distance education emerged as one of the potential solutions to keep international programs in Canada through the pandemic and beyond.

“In today’s inter-connected and networked world, the cultural quotient is very important,” said Professor Kanwar. As postsecondary institutions and businesses expand their virtual programs, they should build in opportunities for students to learn about Canadian society and business culture. Partnerships within Canada and across the world are the way to move forward.
