The Commonwealth of Learning’s (COL) President and CEO Professor Asha Kanwar briefed new London-based diplomats at the 34th Diplomats Induction Programme, held in London, UK, 2-4 October 2017. Professor Kanwar highlighted COL’s history, mission and work supporting sustainable development through learning in the Commonwealth. She encouraged the diplomats to ensure their countries make full use of COL’s expertise in open, distance and technology-based approaches to learning.
The Diplomats Induction Programme brings together London-based diplomats from the Commonwealth to provide a better understanding of the Commonwealth and an opportunity to strengthen contacts between Commonwealth officials and those managing Commonwealth affairs in their High Commission. The programme is conducted by the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Commonwealth Foundation.
