Recently Women Deliver‘s Katja Iversen (President/CEO) and Evelyne Guindon (Director, External Relations) visited Vancouver, Canada, to build upon their partnership with the Commonwealth of Learning.
Women Deliver is currently working with COL on the development and delivery of two MOOCs (massive open online courses) on gender equity and women and girls empowerment, with a special focus on sexual and reproductive health and rights. These courses are intended to spread awareness of equality issues and train youth leaders across the globe to become advocates in their communities.
The partnership recognizes COL’s expertise in online and blended learning. COL’s Girl’s Inspire project has improved the lives of over 30,000 women and girls through technology-mediated education and training. Its Lifelong Learning for Farmers initiative is reaching more than 200,000 women and has quantified the impact of the project on the empowerment of women.
Women Deliver hosts the world’s largest conference on gender equality and the health, rights, and well-being of girls and women. As part of planning for Women Deliver 2019 – which will take place 3-6 June 2019, in Vancouver, Canada – Women Deliver visited COL to discuss how the two organisations could further their relationship and promote gender equality.
