In continuation of COL’s partnership with Kenyatta University, Professor Asha Kanwar, President and CEO of COL met with the deputy vice chancellor, deans, and directors of the university on 26 April 2022. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the role of education and skills in graduate employability as well as to enhance COL support for virtual labs and micro-certifications. These enhancements are aimed to further improve the quality of education at Kenyatta University, and to increase employability of their students and capacities of the faculty.
COL and Kenyatta University’s history of collaboration started a few years ago with COL helping the university to develop a robust internal quality assurance mechanism.
Professor Waceke Wanjohi, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) at Kenyatta University shared that the leadership course developed for increasing employability has gained popularity among students and employees of this institution.
Professor Kanwar during her presentation highlighted the importance of human, data and technological literacies for future ready graduates. This meeting was part of Professor Kanwar’s mission to Nairobi, where she will participate in the 21st Commonwealth Conference of Education Ministers hosted by the Kenyan Ministry of Education.
