In partnership with the Commonwealth of Learning (COL), the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) has launched its first MOOC: Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management for Law Enforcement. This free five-week online course is available from 29 July 2023 to anyone interested in learning how to manage conflicts in a variety of contexts.
Developed by UTT with support from COL, the course is synchronous and asynchronous. Through a combination of lectures, discussions, videos, readings and case studies, participants will develop greater awareness of the underlying issues that lead to conflicts, learn the skills to de-escalate conflict and practise resolving disputes in a non-confrontational manner. Live discussion sessions for participants who enjoy interaction will be recorded and made available each week.
To earn a certificate of participation, persons will need to successfully complete the five weekly assessments with a minimum score of 70 per cent.
