The 18th annual meeting of the advisory council for CEMCA met in New Delhi on 12 December 2018. Chaired by COL President and CEO Professor Asha Kanwar, it was attended by COL Focal Points from Bangladesh, Malaysia and Sri Lanka and by Vice Chancellors of the Bangladesh Open University and the Indira Gandhi National Open University. The Vice President of COL also participated in this meeting.

Dr Shahid Rasool, Director of CEMCA presented the annual report as well as an action plan for 2019. Council members, while acknowledging the contribution of CEMCA to Higher Education and Skills Development in the region, urged CEMCA to go for a scale-up across institutions throughout Commonwealth Asia. The members also sought the help of COL/CEMCA in further advancing the gains of institutional efforts in TVET in their respective countries.
