COL’s Commonwealth Digital Education Leadership Training in Action (C-DELTA) programme has been nominated as a finalist for the Falling Walls 2020 award in the category of Digital Education.

The awards are presented at the annual conference – recognising select breakthroughs of the year in a range of topics, including digital society, engineering and technology, health and life science, environment and sustainability, arts, humanities and social sciences. In 2020, the Falling Walls Conference will be held remotely and will include Digital Education as a new category.

Working with governments, educational institutions, teachers, and civil society organisations, C-DELTA promotes digital education environments in Commonwealth nations. The programme is open to teachers and students in secondary education and beyond, helping them become competent digital education leaders, who are able to identify digital footprints, create and share digital artifacts, and participate in personal learning networks to influence others and engage in lifelong learning. C-DELTA has been used in 52 countries and is currently implemented in nine countries of the Commonwealth.

Speaking about the nomination as a finalist for Falling Walls 2020, Dr. Sanjaya Mishra, COL Education Specialist: eLearning, said, “C-DELTA provides a scalable solution to the digital illiteracy and lack of skills to effectively use digital tools for learning. At a time, when online learning has become a necessary skill, C-DELTA provides pathways to becoming digital education leaders for both students and teachers.”
