Dr Tony Mays was appointed Director: Education in January 2024, where he had served as Education Specialist: Open Schooling since 2019. In his current role, he continues to lead and manage the Open Schooling initiative.
Throughout his career, Tony has been involved with the strategic leadership and operational management of distance education with extensive experience in sub-Saharan Africa.
Dr Mays holds a DEd (Curriculum Studies) and MEd (Didactics) from the University of South Africa, BEd Hons from the University of Natal, PGCE from Westminster College in Oxford and BA Hons from the University of Wales, Swansea.
