In order to make its relationship with each Commonwealth Member State more systematic and interactive, the Commonwealth of Learning first introduced a network of ‘COL Focal Points’ in 2006.

Focal Points, senior officials nominated by ministries of education, keep ministers briefed about COL’s work, provide guidance on country priorities and serve as a valuable strategic resource.

COL hosts regular meetings to update Focal Points on its work in their region and the wider Commonwealth, and to consult with them on regional and national priorities. The latest meetings were held between December 2022 and March 2023.
