The first pillar of the Empowering Women and Girls project focuses on enhancing the understanding of human rights among women and girls. This includes their entitlement to property ownership and inheritance, their sexual and reproductive health rights, and the laws that safeguard these rights. It also aims to empower them to recognize their ‘power within’.
To further support women and girls, the project will engage with men and boys, raising their awareness of human rights, gender equality, and their societal responsibility to challenge prevailing norms. It will advocate for governance that is accountable to gender equality.
Lastly, the project will bolster the capabilities of WROs. This will enable them to confront gender stereotypes, address unequal power dynamics within the community, and advocate for the enforcement of laws that guarantee gender equality.
